BRACKET CHALLENGE OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. The Shack Madness: Bracket Challenge (“Challenge”) is based on the results of the 2020 NCAA Division I Men’s College Basketball Tournament (“Tournament”). The Tournament consists of sixty-three (63) separate games, and Entrants are awarded points by correctly predicting game winners. Prizes will be awarded to those Entrants who have accumulated the most points during the Challenge. In the event an Entrant submits a “Perfect Bracket” whereby he/she accurately predicts the outcome of all sixty-three (63) Tournament games, he/she may be eligible to win the Grand Prize.
ELIGIBILITY: This Challenge is open only to legal United States residents residing in the fifty (50) United States and Washington, D.C., who are at least eighteen (18) years of age (“Entrant”). Each Entrant must be the rightful owner of the e-mail address and social media handle identified in the Entrant’s entry at the time of registration. Limit one (1) entry per person. If an Entrant exceeds the entry limitations, the Entrant will be disqualified and no prizes will be awarded to such Entrant.
NO ENTRY FEE: No entry fee is required to participate in the Challenge.
TIMING: The Challenge “Registration Period” begins immediately following “Selection Sunday” once the Tournament Bracket is locked, and ends on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11:59pm EST.
HOW TO REGISTER AND SELECT PICKS: To participate in the Challenge, you must download a printable bracket here (link coming soon), or pick one up at your nearest The Crack Shack location, and fill in predictions (one (1) winner for each game in the Tournament, plus best guess for combined total score of the Tournament Championship game (“Tie-Breaker”)). The Tie-Breaker answers will ONLY be used to determine prize winners in the event that there is more than one (1) Perfect Bracket, OR a tie in final points awarded for any tied, non-Perfect Brackets. Completed brackets must be returned to any The Crack Shack location before that location closes on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Entrants are required to fill out a Crack Shack-specific bracket; brackets from other challenges will not be accepted. Entrants must also provide their valid e-mail address on any brackets submitted. Entrants may also provide Instagram profile handle for social media sharing, but this is not required to be entered.
No changes or revisions to any predictions will be permitted after the close of the Registration Period. Incomplete or unintelligible entries will be disqualified. All information provided by Entrant becomes the property of The Crack Shack. By submitting a valid e-mail address, Entrants expressly agree and consent to receiving e-mail communications from The Crack Shack.
SCORING: Entrants will earn points based on correct prediction of winning teams in the Tournament games. The number of points awarded for each correct pick of a winning game of the Tournament will increase with each round of the Tournament. The four (4) opening round games scheduled to take place prior to the First Round of the Tournament, are NOT included in the Challenge. Challenge points will be awarded as follows:
|1 (First Round)||1 point for each correct selection (32 total points possible)|
|2 (Second Round)||2 points for each correct selection (32 total points possible)|
|3 (Third Round)||4 points for each correct selection (32 total points possible)|
|4 (Fourth Round)||8 points for each correct selection (32 total points possible)|
|5 (National Semifinals)||16 points for each correct selection (32 total points possible)|
|6 (Championship)||32 points for correct selection (32 total points possible)|
In the event a Tournament game does not occur as scheduled for any reason (e.g., due to cancellation), no points will be awarded for that game.
At the conclusion of the Tournament, Entrants scores will be calculated and prizes will be awarded to the top scoring Entrants as described below. In the event of a tie for the championship round, the winner will be determined by the closest guess of the total points scored by both teams in the final game.
In the event that a tie is not broken by the Tie-Breaker answer (combined total score of the Championship game), the winner will be determined by comparing Entrants’ number of points scored in Round 5 (National Semifinals), with the Entrant with the highest points scored for Round 5 deemed the winner of the tie. To the extent there is still a tie, such tie shall be broken by the same process (highest points scored in each round) for each preceding round, starting with Round 4, until the tie is broken.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: The Grand Prize will only be awarded in the event that an Entrant submits a Perfect Bracket. In the event no Entrant has submitted a Perfect Bracket, the Entrant with the highest point score at the end of the Challenge (or Tie-Breaker or tie-breaking process, if applicable) will be declared the First Prize winner, pending eligibility verification. Potential winners will be notified via email at the email address listed on their bracket, following each round of the Tournament. Selected winners who share their social media handle also agree to be featured on The Crack Shack’s own social media properties. Selected winners will be required to respond (as directed) to the notification within seventy-two (72) hours of first attempted notification. The failure to respond timely to the notification may result in forfeiture of the prize.
PRIZES: Prizes may not be redeemed for cash value.
