Savor the Fried Chicken, Sides, and Desserts
Renowned chef, restaurateur, television personality, and cookbook author, Richard Blais, and executive chef Jon Sloan partnered together to create a selection of mouthwatering items that “elevate” the chicken and the egg.
The fine-casual spot puts poultry at its center; chicken and eggs—fried, grilled, and even deviled—are a part of just about every dish. The playful lunch menu embraces a made-from-scratch, artisanal approach to dining that pays homage to all things chicken, and uses only the finest, freshest local ingredients to create its egg-centric dishes.
The Crack Shack takes its menu—especially its signature fried chicken—seriously. Before settling on the recipe that would make up their addictive fried chicken, the culinary team experimented with different brines, salt levels, flour mixtures, and spices for months before the restaurant opened. The result is a perfectly seasoned, crispy breading that compliments the tender chicken on the inside. You can order a 5 or 10 pieces, and share with friends.
While the fried chicken is delectable enough on its own, The Crack Shack also offers a rainbow of house-made sauces: Kimchi BBQ, Sriracha 1000 Island, Sweet Heat, Baja Hot Sauce, Buttermilk Ranch, and “Cracksup.”
Their Mexican Poutine fries (topped with pollo asado and jalapeño cheese whiz) can serve as their own meal or be split among with the table. The deviled eggs (served with a French toast crumble and candied bacon), and chicken oysters (original or hot) can also be easily shared. And you don’t want to pass up on the miso-maple biscuits and schmaltz fries (which are fried in rendered chicken fat); they’re the perfect add-on to everything your group decides to order.
If you’re looking to end your happy hour with a sweet treat, The Crack Shack’s dessert options are as innovative as its savory bites. Keep an eye out for the rotating cookie du jour or chill out with their always-changing soft serve options; past flavors have included chocolate mole, dirty chai, Mexican hot chocolate, smoked vanilla, and strawberry shortcake.
